For a couple weeks, my five-minute face routine took a back seat. I did full applications every day, along with several practice runs on my friend. All this practice paid off, because she got lovely compliments on her make-up (whew!). One of the most important things? Great brushes. When I came across this brush set from Sonia Kashuk (available at Target), I was reminded of this. Her brushes are a great value - affordable and good quality. This kit has the basics, and comes in a fab little silver and black clutch to boot.
Although I was pretty happy with how it looked at that point, the design didn't quite feel finished to me. When I realized I had more moonstone briolettes, I thought hanging them from flat cable chain would do the trick. I must say, I am incredibly thrilled with the Bollywood style results!

It was really tough to pick just a couple to showcase, but I did my best! Both prints are from the imaginations collection, and first up is the budding tree in pink. The contrast of the tiny, almost lonely twigs that hold these bright and vivacious budding flowers is just precious. I also really love bubbles in sea green. So light and airy!

My favorite piece on the entire site right now is this beautiful bee console table from Philadelphia designer Iannone Sanderson. The bright white is so fresh, and is just stunning with the gilded graphic. I'm convinced it will look beautiful under my metallic copy of Klimt's The Kiss which is hanging in my dining area.
I also really loved this funky and colorful needlepoint pheasant ottoman. It reminds me of a vintage footstool that I got from an antique shop in the Little Ethiopia area of L.A. a few years back.

I think I've said it before, but I'll say it again - I love Etsy! It's a completely amazing online marketplace that has and awesome selection. It reminds me a little of the Pike Place Market in Seattle - except that it's open to the entire world.
It was on Etsy that I came across Alicia Bock, an amazing photographer who has the ability to capture images with dream-like qualities that are truly lovely.
While all of her photographs are breathtaking, I was especially drawn to her images of nature - particularly anything with flowers. I've always loved the quiet beauty of flowers, and look forward to spring because of it. Two of my favorite prints are Baby Blue (above, right), and Delicate Balance (below, left).

I knew I wanted some versatility with the design, so I kept that in mind as I went. I figured even my blog would love a little makeover every now and then. In the finished product, the color scheme and jewelry can easily be changed to for upcoming seasons and new collections.

Even though I was slightly horrified when I first laid eyes on them, I've come to the conclusion that I'd actually wear them if they didn't cost a healthy chunk of my rent. In fact, I'd even wear them if they weren't gold-plated! I've always been fond of my metallic kicks. Maybe when I'm as rich as, say Warren Buffet (and of course after I solve world hunger and make affordable health care available worldwide), then wearing gold-plated shoes is totally OK. But probably only then for me.
