Alena Hennessy Lightweight Scarf

When I first saw this scarf from Alena Hennessy a little while ago at Modishoppe, I just fell in love! I hate to admit it, but even though I live in the desert, I couldn't resist getting one for myself. Made from charcoal jersey fabric with silk screened pale blue blooms, it's actually very lightweight. Surprisingly enough, I've even been able to wear it on a few occasions! I'm also happy to say that it will come in quite handy on an upcoming trip.

I'm sure I've said it before, but I am a bonafide balm and gloss fanatic. I try a tons of new products a year, but one gloss that I keep coming back to faithfully is the round-a-pout in beach ball from Sephora. I first picked one up a couple years ago, and have gone through several since then.

These colors look great on just about any skin tone, and are perfect alone, mixed, or layered over your favorite lipstick. The moisturizing formula never ceases to amaze me, either. I put in on in the morning, and even though the color wears off, my lips are soft all day. Love it!!

I was perusing the selection at Patiricia Field's online boutique, and found this cool enamel tiger bracelet from jewelry dynamo Kenneth Jay Lane.
There's actually a whole safari's worth of these things, so if tigers aren't your thing, check out the giraffe and the elephant versions.

Sahara Dress

I know I just posted about a little black dress last week, but after I found this ultra-cool jersey frock I couldn't resist another dress post! Known as the Sahara Dress from Magarita Saplala, the drape, detail, color, and shape is just so fresh. It's the perfect combination of chic sophistication and modern edge.

A Display of Affection

Happy Friday, everyone! I've posted a few shots of my new display at a boutique in Scottsdale called SC Moda below. My line has been in the store for a couple months, and I just got the opportunity to set up a new display this week.
This was such a fun project, and I'm so happy with the results! I love the gradual change in height and the gift box accents. It should be noted that this make-over was actually store wide. Some amazing new fixtures have been installed, and the store looks great! Their sleek new look will be christened next week at an evening event they are hosting with local clothing designer, Stephanie Edge.

Post Secret

A while ago I was strolling through a bookstore, and a book called Post Secret caught my eye. The idea was started with a guy named Frank Warren, who asked people to write him on homemade postcards, and disclose their secrets. I picked it up to check out a page or two, and was completely hooked. I couldn't put it down, and spent my entire afternoon in the bookstore. (Not that that's a bad thing, mind you.)

I found out recently that there's actually a blog, so you can get an idea of what the books are like. Some of the confessions are sad, some are hysterical, and some are remarkably gross... It's amazing what people will actually disclose when anonymity is guaranteed!

You can pick up all three books in the series right here. I also hear that there should be a new Post Secret coming out this Fall. Maybe you still have time to send in your confession?

Into the Wood

I was lucky enough to snag these cool, handmade wood bangles while I was on my Fiji honeymoon back in 2005. I've never realized how versatile they were until recently. From trouser-style jeans with a hot pink silk camisole to a green, floor length empire waist dress with a deep V-neck (click here to see the dress in black), these bangles seem to compliment practically everything in my closet.

Armed with my new-found respect for wooden accessories, I was totally thrilled when I found this cool wood wrist cuff from Subsonic Design at Le Train Bleu.

I adore the uniquely modern look of this cuff. Nothing less than pure simplicity, the sleek lines and smooth texture will mix flawlessly with just about anything.

Alice + Olivia LBD

I've been looking for a new little black dress, and think I finally found it! I came across this lovely little number from Alice + Olivia at Shopbop recently, and am hoping to convince my husband that the $440 price tag is worth it - wish me luck!

p.s. - For those of you that love metallics, this fab little dress is also available in silver and gold.

Turquoise Treasures - Model Pic

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. I'm happy to report that I finally got around to doing more model photography with some new jewelry. This picture has just been added to the homepage to showcase these sleeping beauty turquoise cluster earrings, and the turquoise howlite drop necklace.A cool side note about these designs? I've started making my own headpins (the components that secure the beads to the design) from fine silver, and the ear wires from sterling silver as well. It's such a cool way to infuse a little more individuality and refinement to my work. You should definitely expect to see more of these elements in my jewelry!

Apatite for hoops

Sorry for the late post! Due to a minor hiccup that has mysteriously solved itself, I had no Internet yesterday. Now that things seem to be working again, I thought I'd post another sneak peek since it's been a while.

The object of affection for today? These cool apatite-wrapped hoops. I've been holding onto these teeny tiny faceted apatite rondelles for quite some time, and finally came up with the perfect design to showcase them. About 2.5" in diameter, these fab hoops are so light and airy and have become a staple in my own personal wardrobe. I'll be adding them to the site sometime in the next week.

Under the Trees

Wow, this bed from Shawn Lovell Metalworks is absolutely gorgeous! I can't say that I've ever seen anything like it. It did cross my mind that this might be the answer to my recent camping aversion. Now all I need for a perfect night under the trees is a faux constellation.

The Elepant in the Room

I know I just posted about the goldfish teapot last week, but I couldn't resist this post-worthy pot either! This adorable elephant teapot reminds me of a circus toy I had when I was younger. Available at Target for a mere $14.99. How can you go wrong?

Sleeping Beauty and Angelskin

Happy Monday, everyone! I updated the site last night, and although the Spring Ring Sale is now over, I did add some cool stuff. I posted about the long sterling claw necklace a little while ago, which is now finally on the site.

Also on the site are these lovely new earrings. Made with genuine Arizona Sleeping Beauty turquoise and the highest quality polished angelskin coral drops, these beauties will add some Bollywood flair to your summer wardrobe.

On a roll

I love to travel, and of course I love jewelry, but putting the two together can sometimes end up in lost baubles. The perfect solution? One of these silk jewelry rolls from Flight 001. Available in a few different colors and patterns, these will keep all your trinkets safe and sound during your journey.

Asianera teapots

I must have a thing for goldfish lately, because everything I see with goldfish on it these days is just so cool. This teapot from Asianera is no exception. I love these little guys!

For the bride...

Ah, it's getting to be that time again. Wedding season! I was lucky enough to have a fabulous wedding back in 2005, and have been to some amazing weddings since. One of my favorite parts? The dress, and of course, the jewelry!

This crystal ring silk necklace is the newest addition on my site. The minimal aspect of the design makes it a perfectly fresh accessory for the modern bride. View the rest of the wedding collection right here.

Hey, Cool PAD

I stumbled onto the Pure Austrian Design website a little while ago, and have been in awe of pretty much everything I see there. Sculptural and inventive is the best way to describe it. This chandelier from the site actually graces the MET Opera House in NY (installed in 1966), and has become an iconic symbol ever since. Stunning!

New leaf

What a cool way to infuse a natural element into your bathroom! These soap leaves are good for 1-2 washings per piece, and come in a pack of 20. Makes for unique gift, don't you think?

Oh, Canada!

Great news for my Canadian neighbors!

I've updated my site, and can now accept orders shipping to Canada for a flat rate of $11.00. All orders placed in the site will be shipped via USPS Global Priority Mail.

I'm really excited about this new development. As time goes by, we should be able to accommodate shipping to more countries. Until then, welcome to my Canadian friends!

Fly by

Wall decals are so cool - especially these flying birds I found on Lumens. These surface graphics can be placed on any flat surface, and are super easy to remove and reuse in a new location.

Having the ability to change your wall scape at a moments notice without the use of nails, a hammer, or a paintbrush is such a lovely idea! Just think of the new found freedom you'll have in your office or home environment.

Check out the other styles available at Lumens.

Modish mention

Wow, great news! I just got an e-mail from Jena over at Modish. Yesterday, the lovely purveyor of indie style has included my rainbow moonstone rings on her Mother's Day gift guide post. How cool is that?

Thanks so much Modish!

Dreamy mobile

I came across a really cool Etsy boutique recently called Nonpareil. With a fabulous selection of jewelry and accessories from indie designers, many of their items are one-of-a-kind.

I am in love with the amazing work they carry from Polli - particularly this etched stainless steel mobile. Gorgeous!!!
