Even my passport is gorgeous

Happy Friday, everyone! This post is perfect for those of you that are planning on international travel this summer. That said, check out this seriously fabulous passport cover from Asos! The print actually reminds me a little of the Jenn Ski artwork that was featured recently (click here to read that post). What a fun way to add a little color to your travels - before you even reach your destination.

Tourmaline Hoop Dream

Feast your eyes on these unusually sophisticated hoops from Anthony Nak. Such a cool idea to combine the shape of the classic hoop earring with a natural woodsy element. And the addition of the singular tourmaline stone and ultra-petite diamonds? Absolute perfection, I say!

Mirror, Mirror

photo courtesy of Karim Rashid's Shop

How awesome would it be to have this self-carrying three-sided mirror from designer extraordinaire Karim Rashid nestled snugly in your home? I have to admit that it's way more than I could ever spend on a mirror (a staggering $2,500), but at least I can dream!

Green Amethyst Earrings

Happy Monday, everyone! I just got done updating the website with these new green amethyst drop earrings. I have to say that they are some of the most gorgeous specimens I have ever seen. These beauties are marquise cut, and of the absolute highest quality. I picked them up back in January at a trade show, and finally got around to using them.

The gems are hanging from fine flat cable chain inside hand formed and hammered drop frames, and also have my handmade ear wires. I've found that they are quite versatile as well. The pale green color is especially complimentary to brights blues and pinks, but looks amazing with black, too.

The coolest dustpan. Ever.

I don't think I've ever used the term "cool" to describe a cleaning tool before, but it just seemed appropriate for this uncharacteristically chic dustpan. This thing is just too hip to hide away in your broom closet though, I'd use it as funky wall decor instead. Several different graphics available.

Tatty Devine!

Check out this funky shoe necklace from the jewelry house of Tatty Devine. I love that the namesake is written on the tiny insoles - now that's some serious attention to detail! Also available in tiger print.

Jenn Ski

I was lucky enough to come across the bright and funky work of artist Jenn Ski recently. From original artwork to adorn your walls, to affordable prints that work well for room accents, you're sure to find some fun stuff for your home. Also in the works? A line of housewares and stationary that will appear in the currently-under-construction goodies area. I can't wait!

Shell Wish

I just love this cool speckled shell ring I found while perusing the goods on Vivre yesterday. It's seems so natural and simple - as if it's just been plucked from a sandy beach and just happened to have a hole in it. Such a cool and inventive use of nature!

Lego Inspired

Hi everyone! I'm glad to say that I am back from a wonderfully refreshing vacation, and found some great new stuff to share while I was on my trip. First up? These cool earrings from Jacqueline Sanchez. Even though I was never really into my brother's Lego collection as a kid, I have to say that I'd have no problem getting into these oddly chic earrings. I especially love the pink! Why not spread the love to a deserving man in your life; check out the cuff links.

Audrey Kawasaki

I found the beautifully dreamy work of Audrey Kawasaki recently and just had to share! I think my favorite is Yumi No Ato, shown below. Unfortunately for me, this print is completely sold out. Ah, such is life. I won't let this happen again though - I'm signing up for the mailing list to get the skinny on new prints.

For more info from the artist herself on shows, new pieces, and random info in general, take a look at her live journal.

Oh, and a quick note to all my wonderful readers: I'm going to be on vacation all next week, so I won't be posting daily. I'll do my best to post one or two though! Also, I will still be taking orders on my site, but won't be able to make or ship orders until I get back on Monday, June 18th. That said, have a fabulous weekend everyone!

Orsay Satchel

This lovely specimen of a handbag is from Brooklyn-based line, Hayden-Harnett. The Orsay Satchel is one of the limited edition designs that feature ultra-feminine printed linens from Paule Marrot. The leather, the detail, the linen - everything about these bags is nothing less than spectacular. All I can say is I want it!

More Model pics!

I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but I love my job! This is especially true when I design items that end up in my own personal collection.

The newest addition to my jewelry box? These cool swingy earrings that feature a handcrafted crescent wrapped with faceted labradorite, smooth sleeping beauty turquoise rounds, and baby freshwater pearls. Oh, and another quick note; this design also features a pair of my very own studio-crafted ear wires.
Something else that's a little new to the site? Beginning with these earrings, I'm going be including inserts of how the items look on in the detail information pages. Hopefully the visual will give viewers a better idea of the proportions for each piece.

Oooo - check out this cool hand cut bambi necklace I found at gNeebo's Etsy shop. I love the bright green lotus print. Such a fun, fresh piece - and totally adorable to boot!

Plant Love

You have to give it up for the product designers over at CARGO Cosmetics - they've certainly gotten inventive with their packaging. I was at Sephora this weekend, and noticed these bright and colorful lipsticks. Actually, it wasn't so much the lipsticks that I noticed (although I'm sure they're fab - very moisturizing, from what I understand) so much as the packaging - the boxes they come in are made from flower paper!

Essentially, wildflower seeds are embedded in the paper. After you've removed the product from it's package, moisten the box, then plant and wait for some lovely wildflowers to grow. I've used flower paper before and thought it was super cool, but I love the idea of transforming something that would normally be thrown in the trash into wildflowers.

SurlyGirly Cosmetics

Whew - I am super tired today. Why, you ask? Last night's event for local Phoenix clothing designer Stephanie Edge. Held at SC Moda in Scottsdale (check out a recent post with pics of my jewelry here), it was truly a whirlwind event! People arrived early, and the place was packed for most of the night.

Below is a picture of the owners of SC Moda (they're on the right), Cynthia, and Silvia. Thanks to them for the fabulous atmosphere of the evening! Another cool highlight came from the women to their left, Christine and Kristen. They are the co-founders of a cosmetics line from LA that launched last August, aptly named SurlyGirly. It's such a great name, because it represents their personalities - there's no wondering who represents the "surly" or the "girly"!

All night they were showcasing their line of make-up, and women were eating it up! There was always a commotion going on when I looked over. Their line boasts high quality products - glosses that feel like balms, high pigmented eye shadows, and more, more, more! Really great stuff, and definitely worth checking out.
